Retina MacBook Pro 15" Disaster

Oh well. Today i stumbled upon an issue regarding rMBP.

Apparently, Apple has discourage the use of palm guard protectors as it will damage your screen.

Symptoms
Leaving palm rest covers or other material on the palm rest surface of your computer could result in damage to the display when you close it.

Resolution
To enable thin design, the clearance between the display and the palm rest area is engineered to tight tolerances. Do not use palm rest covers as the added thickness may interfere with the designed resting position of the display.

As a best practice, keep the palm rest clear of any material.

So this is what happens when i start to peel it off.

Argh! Just peel it off la. Feel like the whole area dislocating. What the SHIT! Only the matte surface came off.

In the end, i managed to get rid of the sticky adhesive, but it's an awful experience, i would recommend anyone who are into 3rd party accessories to just keep your macbook clean and save the money.

Feeling utterly disappointed. I went on to remove the keyboard protector which causes me to have awkward typing and it sucks anyway. The screen protector which defeats my purpose of a retina display.

Freebies and really just freebies.

Lesson learnt. Enjoy your Mac like i do. Apple designed this beauty to be used like this.

Been so long...

Hello. It's been so long since i last blogged. Because of what? NS. Yeah. It sucks. And now i'm 19days away from ORD. But anyway, it's been a rough and tough shit this 2years, basically, everything about army is shitty. 2 years of blank they said.

Yesterday, i was surfing, and i happened to type faceshop. So i came to this website called SUNNANZ. So i clicked and went on to take a look. It is a skincare website. They are almost like a wholesaler, so i thought, well, instead of giving my money to guardian and faceshop. Why not give it a try.

So i add a few items to cart. And it came up to $41.20 instantly. Entered my details and was shocked that paying by credit card or debit card has admin charges.

Luckily there was the option for Internet Banking, which was great. And i go for it. Stumble upon the option for delivery was weekdays and weekend, i weekdays, but was rather worried that it might not ship and they hold it over the weekends, so i gave one of the owner, Christina a Whatsapp message. And she promptly replied.

Fast forward to today, after all the payment and things like that. The items arrived at almost 7pm. Alright in time with their schedule of 5pm to 8pm.

Received all the items and some little cute bag. Random samples.

This is the bag they gave to put the items you bought in a safe safe place.

The New Zealand Volcanic Clay Blackhead Charcoal Nose Strip was totally crushed. The content seems alright.

The types of mask i bought, 5 each. Sebum Control Soothing Mask, Vit B Hydrogel Mask, Mung Bean Mask. All to cure my acne.

Overall, not too bad.

I couldn't sleep last night. My mind was restless. Kept thinking of the past. Then it tells me, it's been long since i last returned.

Still couldn't sleep at 3am. So i decided to google up XiaMen on my phone. It gave me really interesting facts about the place. The place i knew so long, yet so little did i know how much it had developed. From a coastal war station i used to know of. I never thought the pictures i saw was so beautiful.

A Long Time

It's been a long time since i last blog. Not really busy, just don't have the mood to.

Well, NAFA's around the corner, so Andrik, Chris and me decided to go to East Coast for a 40km+ bicycle ride. Distance covered was from McDonalds side, all the way to Changi Beach Park, almost Changi Village. We ended up at a small shop for a little break, iceream and water before to hit for the way back. We could have gone further, but we were left with half an hour to return our bikes. Andrik was the first one to arrived and Chris the last. Had subway again, but it's good and healthy.

Chris father gave us a ride to TPY, so Andrik and me went to his dad's smoothie store. The Durian Smoothie taste pretty good. I'm sure it could be better if the employee do a better job.

This is the LAST Semester to go, followed by 2years of NS and i'll be on my own. Really hope i can work and have my own house soon. Hai, i don't want to rely on anybody.

M1 Voicemail Deactivate

Very often, i found myself(Singtel User) wasting my call time on M1 users, especially those that comes with voicemail. Each time, your call enters the voicemail part, your 1minute gets automatically deducted off, or if you are Starhub or M1 user, a few seconds.

It's really frustrating trying to call M1 users who doesn't deactivate their voicemail services and it just kept eating up your FREE MINUTES, worst your 1minute of call time multiply by the amount of time the call ends up to the voicemail service.

Hence, i tried this on my brother's M1 line and it works.

To deactivate all calls, press "##21#" CALL. It will deactivate the voicemail service.

3 Weeks

It's just so fast! I've been doing nothing for the past 3 weeks.

Today, i started to organize my different modules, i realised! There's so much to study! I have only 9days left till 1st paper IAF! 2more days after, it's GBE! There's really no time for me to waste now! So far, i've completed 2chapters for IAF. But there's like 6 chapters more!

Anyway, just checked out. I can actually get a iPhone4 32GB for FREE next month. But really, should i? Or should i just sell it? I don't think anyone in the house needs it though.

Messed with Multi-touch for Spica few days ago, found that it's good, works in google maps etc, but it's crazy on my phone. So i had to reflash back to 2.08.4Beta2 Kernel with resigned 1.3.1d Samdroid. ARM11 DVM Optimized is boosting it well so far. No reboots yet.

YOG Holidays

Woo! So long never blog. A lot of changes recently. And i thought there's really no point blogging. Who's going to see?

I'm at home rotting now. Barely a week into the holiday and i'm enduring this boredom. Last presentation for the semester had also been finished on Thursday. Friday 13 wasn't really that unlucky, although it did happened to me. I think it's hinting to me that i should be nice to everyone.

Has been modding Galaxy i5700 lately. Using FrozenEclair with Lk 2.07 kernel. Giving me a high 8.6 MFLOPS just today. Awesome, it's almost more than 4times faster than the stock firmware. No complains to this phone, although the screen is really not too well-made compared to his bigger brother Galaxy S. I'm hoping to use this phone till my NS and swap to a non-camera one. Hopefully by then a good NS phone can reach SG shores.

Nothing to update already. I think i should get more clothes for myself and start eating my breakfast and exercise, exercise if i want to pass my NAFA.

Biggest want right now is to own a OPC Kia Picanto. But i have no money, i'm thinking if i can use it as a family car but well. Now is not the time to buy car. Which in turn makes me wanna get a Bike License. I'll probably see how much i have left before i sign up. Tomorrow or never.

Impressive phone. The sound quality is really good. Web browsing is still bearable, nothing to worry about. I can install eBuddy, Hoiio, FaceBook, Youtube and watch all kinds of videos but that's not my concern right now. QWERTY keyboard feels really good! Squeaky little rubbery keyboard.

Reason for not choosing BlackBerry? It looks really fugly.

Woot. I actually ate Maggie Mee yesterday night! My most hated food! Was super hungry until cannot endure. In the end i boiled water and ate it! Was super salty even after i added like half a bottle of Ice Mountain...

Woke up at 9am today. Started studying. After lunch, i continued with BLAW! In the end cannot take it, fall asleep twice! Really buay tahan sia. Woke up at 5pm by my alarm. Went down for Circuit Practice 2. Today was slightly better, but still tio kan. Say i listen wrong, or he say wrong? 19 become 29? He thinking i beh kan and i thinking he beh kan.

Enough with my rants, he's nice to let me drive to Eunos to take train home! WOOT!

I'm thinking of changing phone. I want E72, BlackBerry is good but overrated, can't deny their RIM OS but BB users are just like iPhone users. Oh well. I hate touchscreen. :(

Goods: Touchscreen phones are generally better in terms of surfing/3G experience, better browser etc...

Bads: It's really hard hard hard to type and feel. You always have to look at it while typing, the dictionary and auto correct words can only do that much.

I will buy E72 (NEW) at $380 MAX!

Circuit Party

KW: "Dota is bad for health!" LOL! And they're playing later! I can't play sia :( BLAW 12 chapters and i've not read a single page yet. Impossible to finish liao lor. OMG, and i'm still blogging here.

Dota till like 5am+ yesterday, woke up at 1pm+ and had to go driving at 2pm. My whole morning was wasted on sleeping. First time in the circuit. Kenna kerb once sia. He ask me just turn even though i knew it's gonna hit the kerb. I guess he wanna let me feel how it's like? :S Kenna scolded till chao tao. Bad day but hopefully i learn and pass my TP on 15 March.

Called KW when i was on bus 51 after driving at 4.30pm, he said all assemble at his house. So i say i will head there once i get home. In the end i fall asleep! LOL. Woke up 6pm liao. So i faster head down, thinking they may all be at LiXin's house liao. In the end they were playing Mahjong! So i sit down watch 《爱》. The storyline forever the same one sia. Super expected.

Samuel came, then we waited for ChenChao and Arthur, and head off to LiXin's house. Wah. We 5 10 the cake sia. LOL. ChenChao took the 1st one and Donn took the 2nd, but ChenChao guailan Donn, in the end had to eat the last portion.

Play BlackJack, pretty fun, played for like an hour and we left for HOME.

Woke up super early today, decided to ask my mom go City Square Mall to buy printer. So we took 21 till Kitchener Road. The store was really brand new. Everything was new, was intending to buy Brother Printer, which in the end became choosing between Fuji Xerox and HP. So the guy actually told us to head down to Vivo City for Xerox laser printers. So we did. Ate at BANQUET at B2, the Korean store was horrendous, cooked by Malay and Chinese.

Upon reaching Vivo City, we headed right for the printer section. There wasn’t many printers at all! OMG. Only 3models of Xerox and the Brother, HP and Samsung printers were even more pathetic! But the store was definitely much bigger. Anyway, skip the boring part, in the end decided on this.

Fu Lu Shou

Went to Fu Lu Shou with Andrik yesterday. OMG. This Kang Li Feng Shui & Crystal Centre. Took electromagnetic photos. I was thinking it's just some normal colored photo. I was sitting on this weird machine and the photo taken was like those of SLR film.

Anyway, Andrik bought some duber expensive fruits near bugis street. Head to ILUMA for our lunch. Come across this Asian Kitchen which i thought it was the one i saw at Orchard ION. So we give it a try. The chicken actually looks like duck if you don't read the name. The steam rice was slightly sticky and it's really nice. The lady told us 1portion only for 1person so we ordered 2. In the end it's too much, bite until mouth cramp. LOL.
